I pray that Jehovah will provide additional spiritual food and encouragement for us single Christians. We're not invisible, and not all of us are eager to get married. Yet, in a way it seems that we're on our own. Yes we can always turn to Jehovah, but when we need human contact, can we talk with our spiritual family?" Thousands of single brothers and sisters can honestly respond yes. They do enjoy such human contact in their congregation. The circle of friends extends beyond brothers and sisters their same age. Being people oriented, they enjoy friendships with those of different ages, including older ones or youths in local Christian families.

16. With some forethought, you can be a source of refreshment to single ones by sometimes including them in your family activities, such as your evening of Family Worship. Sharing a family meal with an unmarried brother or sister can mean far more than a plate of good food. Could you take the initiative to make an appointment to share in the ministry together? What about inviting a single Christian to work with your family on a Kingdom Hall maintenance project or occasionally going shopping together? And some families have invited a widow, widower, or single pioneer to join them on a trip to a convention or a vacation spot. Such association has proved to be mutually refreshing.

The most ironic part about guys like Chris Broussard to me is that they say nothing on the subject of situations that would be considered heterosexual sin. It's like adultery and especially fornication both arent in their Bibles. Other examples such as excessive use of alcohol, materialism, right to defend oneself using violence, subjugation of other peoples, and a plethora of other lifestyles and actions that are condemned in the Christian Greek scriptures never get as much airplay as topics on homosexuality when fundamentalists get in front of a microphone.

Personally this whole story is a hey to do over nothing. Mediocre center facing a free agency which may spell the end of his career as a player and he might have just used this whole coming out thing as a shtick to open up other career opportunities.

while everyone has been bickering back and forth, i decided to do something positive to move forward.

as most of you know back in jan our family marked us as apostates and started shunning us.. so i wrote to all of my congress-people and told them what is going on with the jw's.

i told them how they are breaking up families, teaching the children intolerance, etc.

Please disregard my previous post. What you did is more than I ever have and I respect it immensely. Every little bit counts and what you did wasn't small by any measure. Its got me wondering what other ways can one expose the WT creatively?

Not to be Debbie Downer, but that letter is probably automated, and the first two sentences within the first paragraph are left blank for editing purposes. The same letter was probably sent out to 100 other people today, with the first and second sentence varying from everything including gum on the sidewalk, and people that double park, to whether charcoal grilling is more effective than gas grilling.

New Magazine says birthdays will kill you

new july 2013 awake says this on page 3:.

"there is a 14 percent greater probability that a person over 60 years of age will die on his birthday rather than on other days.".

wow, they have now proven that birthdays are pagan and not fit for christians!.

I'd like to know who gave the ok for this to print, would love to have a conversation with them. Can totally see them saying something like, "further proof that Jehovah disapproves of brithdays" or, "see how Jehovah provides protection from calamity." Wow.

WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?

hi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.

please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

Was wondering when someone would say it, although it's probably been said in more words or less and I just missed it. Whether one is pro AAWA, or anti AAWA, pro or con JWN, pro fader or pro coming out with guns blazing, at the end of the day all of this is a result of the WT's policies.
